This is a really easy baby food to make that is packed with superfoods for your growing little one. It is also easy to take this recipe and modify it as they get older.
Ingredients You Will Need For This Delicious Easy Recipe:
- 1 Ripe banana (brown spots make it sweeter)
- 1 Ripe avocado
- 1 Cup of mixed frozen berries
Steps For This Delicious Easy Recipe:
- Boil the cup of mixed berries. Once the berries are strained don’t discard the water, you’ll be using later.
- Cut up the ripe banana and the ripe avocado.
- In a blender or food processor, blend the berries, banana, and avocado.
- Take the water you used to boil the berries, and add it little by little to the mixture until it’s at the desired thickness.
- Let it cool to room temperature serving.
- Freeze any remaining puree. It’s been my experience that homemade baby food with banana or avocado don’t taste the same after a day or so in the refrigerator.
Modifications I’ve Done With This Recipe:
1. Smoothies
- Don’t thaw the berries before blending the mixture.
- Add a cup of almond milk before blending.
2. Pouches or Popsicles
- Don’t thaw the berries before blending the mixture.
- Add half a cup to a cup of vanilla yogurt before blending.
This is a delicious recipe for baby that you can also be used later on to create some really delicious healthy snacks.
